Spedia is a company that will pay you for surfing the net, while viewing ads on their software, called the Spedia Bar. As you surf with the Spedia Bar, you earn Ad Points, which later can be redeemed for cash. They also have programs that pay you to get emails, and a URL redirect program that pays you to modify the links on your website, so that they cause a pop-up ad to appear when someone clicks on the ad. Payment Questions:
What is their payment plan?
- Spedia pays you on Ad Point for each minute you browse the internet while viewing ads on the Spedia Bar. You can earn more Ad Points through referrals. You get 25% of the Ad Points that your referrals generate through their usage. You are only paid for one level, but you get a larger percentage of your direct referrals usage than most of the other companies.
Is there a maximum amount of referrals?
- No.
Is there a maximum amount of payable hours?
- No.
How do I get paid?
- You are paid monthly by check, except for the first time. You must be a member for 60 days before you can get paid. There is a $30 minimum check amount.
Getting Started
How difficult is the signup process?
- It is not very difficult, simply click on the Join Now link to the left, or below, and fill out a short form and a survey.
What personal information do I have to give to sign up?
- You must supply Spedia with your name and address, email address, phone number, fax number, age, income range, education level, and gender. You also have to fill out a short survey about your internet usage habits. You can also choose whether or not to receive emails from sponsors to earn additional points.
Can I download the software and start making money immediately?
- Yes, the software is available now.
Do they provide any tools to help me with referrals?
- The only tool that they provide to help with referrals, is a banner link.
Software Questions:
How large is the software download?
- There are two versions. There is one that is for Internet Explorer 4.0 and above. It is a 14k download. The other is a Windows version, for Netscape, or IE 3.0 or older. It is a 280k download.
How big is the ad display on the screen?
- It is about the same size as a normal banner ad.
Can I reposition the ad display on my screen?
- Yes, it can be moved anywhere on the screen.
Is the software available for systems not running Windows (i.e. Mac)?
- No, currently only Windows versions are available.
Can I customize the software?
- No.
Can I use this software at the same time I am using another "Paid to Surf" companies software?
- Yes, since the Spedia Bar is a stand alone program, it doesn't interfere with other programs' software.
Are there any additional features of the software?
- Yes. The Spedia Bar can be closed or minimized to the system tray with a single click. It also has three buttons on the left side to open the Spedia home page, show your account information, and open the Spedia Bar help page. There is also an indicator that shows if you are getting paid or not.

Do I have to be browsing the internet to make money, or does it work when programs other than my web browser are running?
- You must be actively browsing the internet to be accumulating Ad Points.
Do I have to click on the ads, or buy anything?
- No, you are not required to ever click on the ads, or to make any purchases.
Can I use the service on more than one computer?
- Yes. However, you can only sign up once.
Can I view my account information (hours logged, current accrued amount, etc.) on their website?
- Yes, you can view extensive information about your associates, Ad Points earned, as well as your account info.
Can I change my account information?
- Yes, at anytime you can logon to their website, and modify your user information.
Are there any special rules I should know about?
- Yes. You cannot spam to gain referrals. You cannot sign up more than once. Also, they have a strict policy against using a computer or other machine to automatically accumulate Ad Points. If a member is caught breaking the rules, their account is posted in the Spedia Hall-Of-Shame.
Is the service available to international users?
- Yes, all are welcome to join.
Does the company offer any other programs?
- Yes, they offer several other programs. One of the programs they offer pays you to receive targeted emails. If you have a website, you can get a spedia.net address which you can give out as your URL. When someone goes to your spedia.net address, they are automatically forwarded to your real website, and a pop-up ad appears. You earn Ad Points for the pop-up ad.
